West Indies defeated Papua New Guinea by five wickets in the T20 World Cup.

Guyana: In the ICCT Twenty World Cup's second match, the West Indies defeated Papua New Guinea by a margin of five wickets.

The West Indies set Papua New Guinea's goal of 137 runs for the loss of five wickets in 19 overs during the game that took place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Notable West Indians included Roston Chase (42), Brendan King (34), and Nicholas Pooran (27). 


Sheriff Rutherford managed just two runs as Andre Russell and Rowman Powell scored fifteen, fifteen runs apiece. Johnson Charles went back to the pavilion but did not register.

For Puapuanyugani, Asadwala claimed two wickets, while Jon Kariko, Chad Soper, and Eli Nau each claimed one wicket.


Rowman Powell, the captain of West Indies, had earlier chosen to bowl after winning the toss. During their 20 overs, Papua New Guinea, batting first, amassed 136 runs at a cost of 8 wickets.

Captain Asadwala scored 21 runs, Sis Bau made a half-century, and Kaplan Dorega, who scored 27 runs, remained undefeated.


Andre Russell and Al-Zari Joseph grabbed two wickets apiece for the West Indies, while Aqeel Hussain, Romario Shepherd, and Jadakesh Moti each claimed one wicket.


In the first game of the T20 World Cup 2024 between Group A teams in Dales, USA defeated Canada by 7 wickets.
