Bridgetown: Namibia defeated Oman by 11 runs in an over in the third game of the Men's T20 World Cup.
After a thrilling encounter, Namibia and Oman's third Men's T20 World Cup match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown finished in a stalemate. However, the result was settled in a super over. Possibly score ten in the over.
Namibia had earlier won the toss and chosen to field against Oman. However, Oman set a goal of 110 runs for Namibia to reach while batting first. Namibia scored 109 runs in the allowed overs to level the game.
Following the dismissal of Namibian opener Michael Van Langen, who was chasing the target, were Nicolas Dion (24), John Frylink (45), captain Gerhard Erasmus (13), batter JJ Smit (8), and Zane Green (0). To win, the team needed David Wiese (9) and Milan Kruger (1) to be the last two runs at the wicket.
Pacer Bilal Khan claimed one wicket for Oman, skipper Aqib Ilyas claimed one, Mehran Khan claimed three, and Ian Khan claimed one.
The Oman squad was dismissed after scoring 109 runs in 19.4 overs during the first innings. Oman's batting line faltered and lost two wickets in the opening over of the innings, opener Keship Prajapati and Aqib Ilyas without. Bilal Khan scored one run, while Batsman Naseem Khushi, 6, Zeeshan Maqsood, 20, Ayan Khan, 15, Muhammad Nadeem, 6, Mehran Khan, 7, Shakeel Ahmed, 11, and Kaleemullah were only able to score two runs apiece.
Ruben Trumpelman, a bowler, removed four players for Namibia; David Wiese got three batsmen to the pavilion; Bernard Scholtz took one wicket; and captain Gerhard Erasmus claimed two.
