Australia won the toss and asked India to bat first to begin the game.
The Indian team outscored the Australian team by 5 wickets with 205 runs in the 20 overs allocated, something the Australians were unable to accomplish.

Australia's innings:

Taking on India's 206, they sent in openers David Warner and Travis Head to begin the chase.
When chasing the massive goal, Australia couldn't have started any better, as opener David Warner was caught for six runs off of six balls in the opening over by Arsdeep Singh. The Australian team's captain, Mitchell Marsh, took the batting after him.

After losing the opening wicket, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh batted sensibly to lead Australia to 87 runs. However, on the final ball of the eighth over, Mitchell Marsh hit 37 from 28 balls before being caught by Kuldeep Yadav.

Glenn Maxwell replaced Mitchell Marsh as Travis Head's backup at the crease. He scored 19 runs off of 12 balls in the 13th over before being dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.
Marcus Stoins took Glenn Maxwell's place, however he was bowled out by Axar Patel in the following over, sending him back to Poland with two runs off of four balls. Tim David batted next to him.
The most significant defeat for Australia occurred when Jasprit Bumrah caught Travis Head, who had amassed 76 off 43 balls in the 16th over.

Following Travis Head, Mathew Wade, an Australian wicketkeeper-batsman, was unable to stay at the crease for very long before getting hit for one run in two deliveries by Arsdeep Singh.

Tim David was replaced at bat by Mitchell Starc, however he and Pete Cummins were unable to score 29 runs in the final over, as India defeated Australia by 24 runs.
Arsdeep Singh grabbed three wickets for India, Kuldeep Yadav claimed two, Akshar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah each claimed one, and so on.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma arrived to lead the team.
Once again, Virat Kohli could not muster a strong opening partnership and was bowled out for 0 runs in the second over by Hazlewood.

India's wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant batted after Virat.

With a 15 off 14 balls after falling victim to Marcus Stoins in the eighth over, Rishabh Pant departed for Poland. Surya Kumar Yadav batted next after him.
