At the match taking place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, Pakistani captain Babar Azam chose to field after winning the toss. With just 19 overs available to them, the whole Indian team was eliminated by Pakistan's 119 runs.


When Virat Kohli was removed for 4 by Naseem Shah, India lost their first wicket at a cost of 12 runs. After Rohit Sharma scored 13 runs off the delivery of Shaheen Afridi, he too retired to the pavilion with a total score of 19 runs. 

After Akshar Patel fell to Naseem Shah for 20 runs, India's third wicket fell at 58 runs. Surya Kumar Yadav scored 7 runs off the ball of Haris Rauf for an 89-run total, while Shivam Dubey managed just 3 runs. Following that, Naseem Shah's ball caught him.

India lost two wickets in a row in Muhammad Amir's over, scoring 96 runs overall. Rishabh Pant scored 42 runs, and Ravindra Jadeja retired to the pavilion for zero.


Shaheen Afridi of Pakistan bowled the opening over before Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli of India began their innings.

The match was abandoned due to rain as soon as the first over was finished; play was resumed at nine o'clock.


The match was originally supposed to start at 7:30, but it started around 8:20 due to rain. Due to rain, the match toss was also postponed from its original time of 7:00 by 30 minutes.


Speaking on the occasion of the toss, captain of the Pakistani team Babar Azam announced that Imad Wasim, not Azam Khan, would be playing for Pakistan against India.

He remarked that he will make an effort to play well in the match against India, that the past is in the past and that the match today is very motivating.

In order for the bowlers to be able to defend, Indian team skipper Rohit Sharma stated that he will attempt to score well. He's participated in two or three games here.
