St. Lucia: Sri Lanka defeated the Netherlands by 83 runs in the 38th match of the ICCT20 World Cup.
The entire Netherlands squad was bowled out for 118 runs in 16.4 overs in response to Sri Lanka's 201 runs.
Michael Levitt and Scott Edwards of the Netherlands had fantastic innings, scoring 31 and 31 runs respectively. Max and Sybrand also scored 11 and 11 runs respectively, while Aryan Dutt and Vikramjeet Singh each scored 10 and 7 runs.
Nawan Thushara grabbed three wickets for Sri Lanka, while Vinandu Hasaranga and Mathisha each claimed two wickets.
When Patham Nissanka was out of the game after the second delivery, Sri Lanka's first wicket fell for nil. Kushal Mendes scored 46, Commando Mendes 17, De Silva 34, Angelo Mathews 30 and Vinandu Hasaranga 20.
The highlight was Sri Lankan batsman Asalinka's aggressive 46 runs off 21 balls, including 5 sixes and 1 four.
Van Beek of the Netherlands claimed two wickets, while Tim Pringle, Aryan Dutt, McCrane, and Kangma each claimed one.
All Group D matches will be completed today in the mega event, South Africa has already qualified for the Super 8 stage from this group, while the result of this match is awaited for the other team.
