Salman Butt, former national team captain, questioned the performance of youthful openers Saeem Ayub and Azam Khan.
During an interview on social media, former captain Salman Butt stated that opener Saeem Ayub has played 21 matches for Pakistan, 14 of which have been against the New Zealand team, but the performance has not been satisfactory. The problem is that Saim isn't playing to his abilities.
He stated that Usman Khan did not have as many opportunities as Saim and Azam, yet they both failed to live up to their potential.
Salman Butt stated that Azam Khan will be missed at the international level; people will point fingers at fitness; as a cricketer, he must work on his fitness; coaches and team management cannot assist! They can only enhance it through diet and exercise; if they do not lose 10 kg for the country, they will be unable to play international cricket.
It is worth noting that openers Saeem Ayub and Azam Khan are among the 15 players selected for the T20 World Cup.
Earlier, supporters lambasted Azam Khan for his poor wicket keeping and batting performance in the fourth match of the series against England, accusing him of being included in the squad because he is Moeen Khan's son."
